Hacis' daily customs-bonded trucking services to bring Hong Kong and Southern China even closer
Operating under the Hong Kong Customs and Excise Department’s Intermodal Transshipment Facilitation Scheme (ITFS) and China Customs’ Quick Pass (QP) Mode, the SuperLink China Direct service offers a bonded cross-border trucking service that takes transit cargo from Hong Kong Airport to mainland China with only one customs inspection at the terminal, saving significant transportation time.
Every day, Hacis operates scheduled trucks from Hong Kong to six depots in mainland China, including Shenzhen, Dongguan, Guangzhou, Huangpu, Xiamen and Fuzhou.Hacis also manages project shipment deliveries to cities beyond southern China, such as Haikou, Changsha, Beijing and Wuhan.
The SuperLink China Direct operation is also supported by SuperLink Logistics (Shenzhen) Company Limited, Hacis’ subsidiary in Shenzhen, which plays a strategic role in liaising with Hacis’ business partners in China and facilitating the business development of SuperLink China Direct.
Double-digit Growth
In the first five months of 2014, Hacis saw a 33% year-on-year growth in the SuperLink China Direct tonnage, hitting a record high this year. Among the six depots, Dongguan and Huangpu experienced a strong growth of 97% and 182% respectively.
“Dongguan and Huangpu are two unique non-airport depots for which Hacis is the only operator at Hong Kong Airport offering a scheduled customs-bonded cross-border trucking service. The demand for transshipment into these two manufacturing hubs has been growing sharply and this upward trend is expected to continue,” says Vivien Lau, Managing Director of Hacis.
Extending Service to Other Cargo Types
In addition to general cargo, Hacis has recently extended the service to cargo that requires special handling, such as perishables, temperature-sensitive goods, and full units. Furthermore, Taiwan shipments flying to Hong Kong and then transferring to mainland China using Hacis’ SuperLink China Direct service will enjoy the same tax benefits of the Economic Cooperation Framework Agreement, offering more multimodal options for shippers and agents.
“While airports in key cities of China are growing fast, Hong Kong remains a major gateway to southern China. The customs-bonded road feeder service is a good option for airlines that use Hong Kong as a transshipment hub to reach China. With the support of Hactl and our business partners, I am confident that Hacis will grow further in the near future,” adds Vivien.
