Four more for the trophy cabinet!
Hactl has repeated its previous successes at both the Supply Chain Asia Awards and the Asian Freight, Logistics and Supply Chain Awards, with four new awards in 2023.
The Supply Chain Asia Awards “Special Award (ESG)” was given to Hactl based on its recent “New lives for old uniforms” project, in which outdated surplus staff uniforms were transformed into useful bags and cute teddy bears. The “Air Cargo Terminal Operator of the Year” award meanwhile followed Hactl’s detailed submission featuring ongoing tech innovations, the “Animal Limo” live animal transfer vehicle, its new “Cool Zone” within subsidiary Hacis’ E-commerce Fulfilment Centre, the introduction of canine detection of undeclared lithium batteries in cargo and its new Knowledge Management Initiative.
Hactl Chief Executive Wilson Kwong and Executive Director — Commercial and Business Development, Joanna Li accepted the awards at a gala dinner held at the Grand Copthorne Waterfront Hotel, Singapore.
The awards have been held annually since 2007 by Supply Chain Asia — a not-for-profit industry body that aims to bring together professionals from within the logistics and supply chain industry to share knowledge, learn from one another and create opportunities for collaboration.
Fifth time
At the Asian Freight, Logistics and Supply Chain (AFLAS) Awards, Hactl was named “Best Global Air Cargo Terminal Operator” and “Best Green Air Cargo Terminal Operator”. It’s the fifth time Hactl and its wholly-owned subsidiary Hacis have been honoured since the AFLAS awards were launched in 2015.
The AFLAS awards recognise leadership, consistency in service quality, innovation, customer-relationship management and reliability among leading industry service providers — including air and shipping lines, airports and seaports, as well as professionals engaged in the industry.
Having satisfied pre-determined criteria, the finalists for each of the 49 categories were short-listed by the organiser, and the winners were chosen by the 15,000+ readers of Asia Cargo News. Joanna Li and Ringo Chan, Executive Director of Hacis, received the awards at a gala awards ceremony held at the JW Marriott Hotel Singapore South Beach.
Comments Wilson Kwong: “It is very gratifying that our industry continues to recognise and reward Hactl’s ongoing efforts to set high standards, innovate processes and lead in sustainability. We sincerely thank all those who voted for us, all those who organise these worthy annual competitions, and all our staff for their awe-inspiring hard work, dedication and enthusiasm.”
