Hactl wins another two Supply Chain Asia Awards
Hong Kong Air Cargo Terminals Limited (Hactl) – Hong Kong’s largest independent cargo handler – has received another two awards at this year’s Supply Chain Asia Awards.
The “Special Award (ESG)” was awarded to Hactl based on its recent “New lives for old uniforms” project, in which outdated surplus staff uniforms were transformed into useful bags and cute teddy bears.
Hactl also won the “Air Cargo Terminal Operator of the Year” award once again, following a detailed submission covering ongoing tech innovations, its new live animal transfer vehicle “Animal Limo”, its new “Cool Zone” within subsidiary Hacis’ E-commerce Fulfilment Centre, the introduction of canine detection of undeclared lithium batteries in cargo and its new Knowledge Management Initiative.
The “Special Award (ESG)” was presented to Joanna Li, Executive Director – Commercial and Business Development of Hactl at a gala dinner held at the Grand Copthorne Waterfront Hotel, Singapore. Says Joanna: “We are delighted to have won this award, as it helps to publicise not only our initiative, but the tremendous scope for sustainability projects throughout our industry.”
Hactl Chief Executive Wilson Kwong meanwhile accepted the “Air Cargo Terminal Operator of the Year” award. Says Wilson: “Hactl continues to invest in its business, even in the current challenging environment. Winning this award again is an endorsement of our ongoing drive for continuous improvement, and we are grateful to the organisers and judges for their recognition.”
The awards have been held since 2007 by Supply Chain Asia — a not-for-profit industry body that aims to bring together professionals from within the logistics and supply chain industry to share knowledge, learn from one another and create opportunities for collaboration.
