Hactl and Hacis win again
Hong Kong Air Cargo Terminals Ltd (Hactl) – the largest cargo handler at Hong Kong International Airport – and its added-value logistics subsidiary Hacis have once again been honoured at the Payload Asia Awards.
Hactl received this year’s award for Ground Handler of the Year (Customer Choice), while Hacis received the award as Regional Logistics Provider of the Year (in both the Customer Choice and Industry Choice tracks).
Hactl is Hong Kong’s largest air cargo handler, serving over 100 airlines and their 1000 freight agent customers. Hacis provides added-value logistics services including bonded RFS operations from Hong Kong to 7 inland cargo depots throughout southern China.
The awards won by Hactl and Hacis were among 4 Editor’s Choice and 20 category awards, each of the latter being selected through a dual-track awards programme. Customer Choice Awards are based on online voting by customers, business partners and Payload Asia readers. Winners in the Industry Choice Awards track are chosen by an international panel of industry experts, based on third-party or self-submissions by entrants.
76 companies were shortlisted for awards this year, and 18,000 votes were cast online for the Customer Choice awards. All results were independently audited.
Hactl and Hacis received their awards at a ceremony in Singapore, in front of a distinguished audience of 250 senior industry executives. Hactl Group Chief Executive Mark Whitehead invited four long-serving staff members to join Executive Director Vivien Lau and himself on stage, to accept the awards.
After the ceremony, Whitehead said: “We are pleased and proud to have been honoured once again in this prestigious awards scheme. It is particularly pleasing that both Hactl and Hacis have been recognised in this way by their customers, which we regard as the highest possible accolade.
“I was very pleased to be able to share this moment with four of our employees, because it is the relentless dedication and hard work of our staff that earn us such recognition. I wish there had been room on stage for all 2,400 Hactl and Hacis staff, but I will have to make do with sharing these awards with everyone when we return to Hong Kong!”
