Hactl and Hacis expand on past award successes
This year’s Payload Asia Awards have once again seen Hong Kong Air Cargo Terminals Ltd (Hactl) – the largest cargo handler at Hong Kong International Airport – and its added-value logistics subsidiary, Hacis, walk away with honours.
Hactl once again won the Customer Choice Award for Ground Handler of the Year, and Hacis repeated its success of 2015, winning the Regional Logistics Provider of the Year in the Industry Choice track. This year, the Group was also triumphant in a third category – the Green Award (Customer Choice) – recognising Hactl’s continuing strong efforts to reduce its environmental impact.
Hactl is Hong Kong’s largest air cargo handler, serving over 100 airlines and their 1000 freight agent customers. Hacis provides added-value logistics services including bonded RFS operations from Hong Kong to 7 inland cargo depots throughout southern China.
The awards scheme features four Editor’s Choice and twenty category awards. Each of the latter is selected through one of two parallel tracks: Customer Choice Awards being based on online voting by customers, business partners and Payload Asia readers, and Industry Choice Awards being decided by a panel of seventeen industry experts, based on detailed submissions entered by third parties or by the applicants themselves.
In this year’s awards, 90 companies were shortlisted for awards, and a record 31,500 votes were cast online for the Customer Choice awards – almost double the number received in 2015. As in previous years, all results were independently audited.
Hactl and Hacis received their awards at a gala ceremony in Hong Kong, attended by some 250 senior industry representatives. Hactl’s Group Chief Executive Mark Whitehead says: “We are delighted once again to have fared so well in the awards, which are among the best organised and most credible in the industry.
“It was particularly gratifying that, with a dramatic increase in industry voting, Hactl repeated its success of previous years – as well as being recognised for the first time for its continuing efforts to be a good citizen of the planet, through its many environmental measures.”
