Hacis appoints new Managing Director

12th October 2012
Hong Kong

Hong Kong Air Cargo Terminals Limited (Hactl) – the major air cargo handler at the world’s largest air cargo hub – has appointed Vivien Lau as Managing Director of its Hacis (Hong Kong Air Cargo Industry Services Limited) subsidiary. Ms Lau replaces Kenneth Bell, who has transferred to Tradeport as Chief Executive.

Vivien Lau has worked for various companies wholly- or partly owned by the Jardine Matheson Group since 2000 (Jardine Matheson is the largest shareholder in Hactl). She spent the first six years in EastPoint Property Management Limited, where she was responsible for business development, marketing, brand strategy and corporate communications.

She then moved to Jardine Airport Services Group (50%-owned by Jardines), where she was responsible for business expansion strategy in China, and helped establish the first Sino-foreign joint venture in Kunming. In 2011, Vivien was appointed Executive Assistant to the Managing Director of Jardine Matheson. She is an MBA scholarship winner from Henley Business School in the UK, holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Sciences, and is a qualified management accountant.

In her new post at Hacis, Ms Lau will lead the company’s continuing expansion and development. Hacis’ main activities are express airfreight road feeder services to and from its six IATA-designated cargo depots situated throughout Southern China’s major industrial region; local airfreight collection and delivery services throughout Hong Kong; and added value services at its Chek Lap Kok base - such as pallet building and breakdown, packing and labelling, and provision of customer reception facilities. Its customers are airlines and freight forwarders.

Says Hactl Managing Director and Hacis Chairman, Mark Whitehead: “We are delighted to welcome Vivien to her new post in the group’s senior management team. Her experience and drive will be invaluable in helping us to realise our ambitious plans for Hacis; this business will play an increasingly important part in Hactl’s future growth. ”
