Hong Kong

Jimmy Chan, General Manager, Hacis receives the award from Eva Cheng, Permanent Secretary for Economic Development & Labour.

Hong Kong Air Cargo Industry Services Limited (Hacis) is pleased to announce that it has been selected as winner of the "Service & Technology Innovation Award" at the Logistics Awards Hong Kong 2006.

Now in its second year, the Logistics Awards Hong Kong is jointly organised by the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport in Hong Kong, the Hongkong Association of Freight Forwarding and Logistics, the Hong Kong Logistics Association, the Hong Kong Productivity Council, and the Hong Kong Trade Development Council. It aims at encouraging the logistics industry to raise professional standards, boost new technology and provide high quality solutions in order to enhance the competitiveness of Hong Kong's logistics sector.

The judging criteria of the "Service & Technology Innovation Award" category, in which Hacis was assessed to have achieved the most outstanding performance amongst participating companies, included the unique application of innovation and technology, enhancement of internal and market performance as well as contribution to the industry and society.

Hacis' integrated logistics support solution covers both the import and export logistics chain in Hong Kong as well as between Hong Kong and southern China. The solution integrates on-airport handling with seamless transport links between Hong Kong and a network of inland cargo collection and distribution hubs in southern China, forming an effective hub-and-spoke system that facilitates the flow of cargo between the manufacturing base in the southern China and Hong Kong International Airport. The integrated solution is supported by a sophisticated I.T. system which provides data transparency along the entire logistics chain.

Mr. Warren Bishop, Managing Director of Hacis said, "It is an honour to receive the 'Service & Technology Innovation Award' at the Logistics Awards Hong Kong 2006. Hacis offers a neutral platform available to all freight forwarders that help streamline both the import and export logistics flow in Hong Kong and also across the Hong Kong-Shenzhen boundary. The award is a recognition of our on-going effort to integrate and enhance the way cargo is handled and delivered in the logistics process from factory to aircraft, and vice versa. Hacis is committed to keep abreast of the latest in technology as well as customers' needs to bring more service offerings to the industry. Our objective is to deliver more efficiencies to the logistics chain through continuous innovation, thereby upholding Hong Kong's status as the regional air cargo hub and primary gateway for Mainland China.".
