Hactl welcomes Finnair as their new customer

Hong Kong Air Cargo Terminals Limited (Hactl) has been commissioned by Finnair Cargo as its service provider for air cargo terminal operations for Finnair's flights serving Hong Kong with effect from 16 February 2002. Finnair has also commissioned Hong Kong Air Cargo Industry Services Limited (Hacis), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Hactl, to provide direct through transport service between Hong Kong and China for its shipments under the SuperLink China Direct service. The award-winning service will expedite transportation of Finnair shipments between Hactl's SuperTerminal 1 and the manufacturing base in the Pearl River Delta.

Our SuperLink China Direct service enables Finnair to offer flight numbers AY9501, AY9503 and AY9505 to serve Guangzhou, Shenzhen, and Donguan on a direct air waybill basis, thereby enhancing connectivity between Scandinavian countries and China via Hong Kong as a hub. We will continue to introduce innovated service products to facilitate and streamline the logistics chain for our customers," said Mr. Summit Chan, Director - Marketing & Customer Service of Hactl.

Editor's Note : Hactl handled 1.59 million tonnes of air cargo in year 2001, representing more than 80% of all air cargo passing through Hong Kong International Airport.

Hacis, a wholly owned subsidiary of Hactl, operates SuperLink China Direct, an innovative intermodal product offering time-define, efficient, and secure through transport to mainland China. The service is offered via a combination of air-road transportation network to cities in mainland China, and features simplified customs clearance procedures at Hong Kong and Chinese borders. SuperLink China Direct service was awarded 2001 Hong Kong Award for Service – Innovation.
