The cornerstone of successful partnership
British Airways World Cargo is a leading cargo carrier, transporting freight, mail and courier traffic to 200 destinations in more than 80 countries. It uses Hong Kong as a cargo hub for the Asia-Pacific region.
The Challenge
A shipment of 100 electrical actuators weighing approximately 20 tonnes from London had to be delivered to Shenzhen without delay. BA World Cargo required a reliable logistics solution partner, not only to help handle the heavy shipment, but to ensure a smooth delivery with maximum cargo data transparency to support the carrier's Cargo 2000 performance.
The Solution
With Hacis SuperLink China Direct service, the whole delivery process, from order to documentation, was carried out efficiently. The successful integration of Hacis and BA World Cargo's electronic systems allowed the shipment's status to be easily updated on BA World Cargo's Freight Tracking System, greatly facilitating performance monitoring.
The Result
With Hacis' professional and time-definite service, the BA World Cargo shipment arrived at its destination an hour earlier than scheduled. The successful implementation of the cross-boundary Flight Truck Concept – co-branded with British Airways to set up flight-truck numbers with a BA prefix – allowed customers to conveniently make bookings on flight-trucks via BA World Cargo's online reservation system. This added value to BA World Cargo's business by virtually extending its network in the Pearl River Delta region.
BA World Cargo was impressed by Hacis' operational efficiency as well as the flexibility and dedication to support customers' growth. Matt Preiss, Regional Customer Service Manager Asia Pacific, BA World Cargo, said: "Hong Kong is a key market for BA World Cargo and we are committed to constantly improving our operational performance in the region. With this in mind, we were pleased to be able to partner with Hacis to enhance our customer service and maximise the strength of our extensive global network." |
